Free of the cycle? :: [19:23:08]There's a phenomenon known as the blogger's cycle which for a long time I was the victim of. Basically the cycle works like this, the blogger waits for something interesting to happen then reports it and adds a liberal dose of their own opinion (often in the form of satire or cynicism). Now while this is all well and good and makes for a lot of blog posts and a very interesting alternative to a news feed (Who actually bothers with those?) I just don't bother with news or politics or any of that piffle lately (It's too depressing to ponder the world we live in that much) so that makes for a lot less posts than normal but it does make for more original posts. I'm not saying they are better posts, they are probably not, but it's what your getting. No doubt the cycle will claim me again sooner or later (You have heard of vicious cycles? Well this one is really vicious, it has claws and it's own paramilitary group which it is slowly and steadily expanding via drugs running from Mexico through to the States where the money is then laundered to Europe through a system of "medications" which find their way into consumer groups.) but for now I don't have the spare time to do much of anything really so blogging doesn't find itself high on the list. Presumably when Uni' is over and done with I will back in the cycle (Because once the money has been laundered it can be transferred into myriad accounts back into Mexico where the Cycle uses the cash it has gained to buy more efficient arms and munitions for it's army).
Speaking of Uni' I had my first lecture of this semester the other day and it was probably the most interesting lecture I have had since year 1. The module is called Learning in Humans, animals and androids and is taught by my project supervisor. I woudln't say Cognitive psych' was my thing, but I did really enjoy this lecture (mainly about neural nets, which obviously I have covered before in Computing). If my other module is as pleasing then I can imagine myself pulling out a pretty good grade this Semester. Apart from that business is as usual. I spent a good chunk of the Christmas break playing computer games which when you spend most of your time doing work is a perfectly acceptable way to spend your time.
